ruptures pitfalls

Pitfall:
Partial bursal sided supraspinatus tendon rupture that mimicks an intratendinous rupture because there is a huge thickened bursa
Pitfall:
Full thickness supraspinatus tendon rupture and thickened bursa. Because of the thickened bursa it looks like a partial tear
Pitfall:
Full thickness supraspinatus tendon rupture that looks like a partial bursal sided rupture
Pitfall:
Full thickness supraspinatus tendon rupture that looks like a partial intratendinous rupture
Effect of compression on the interpretation of pathology:
Small full thickness supraspinatus tendon rupture Compression shows the volume loss and cortical irregularity
Thickened bursa mimicking tendon:
Bursal sided partial supraspinatus tendon rupture. There is a very thick bursa overlying the tendon mimicking intact tendon fibers.
Thickened bursa mimicking tendon:
Full thickness supraspinatus tendon rupture. The defect is partialy filled with thickened bursa.
Thickened bursa mimicking tendon:
Full thickness supraspinatus tendon rupture with bulging of the tendon caused by fluid trapped in the defect
Normal structures mimicking pathology:
Musculotendinous junction mimicking tendon pathology
