Pancreatic rupture with hemoperitoneum

There is no blood in Morrisons pouch and the initial image of the pancreas looks normal

There is a small effusion around the pancreatic tail and a contour irregularity of the pancreas

A control examination 2 days later shows a complete dissection of the pancreas at the site of the contour irregularity and increased effusion

There is an increase in the amount of peripancreatic and intra abdominal fluid

There is an accumulation of fluid around the pancreatic tail

Pancreatic rupture with hemoperitoneum

The fluid collections were treated with a percutaneous drainage

After percutaneous drainage the fluid collections are gone
