Clinical information

A 72 year old female presented to physical therapy with increasing right tingling and numbness into lateral calf and dorsum of foot. The symptoms started to become provoked as the patient begin exercising her lower extremities.

Brief description

Diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound indicated a fabella in the lateral gastrocnemius with close proximity to the common peroneal nerve with enlargement of the common peroneal nerve in this area. Symptoms were reproduced with sonopalpation in this area.
